appearing literally out of nowhere [2016], Swiss team in fact has been practicing their progressive and technical take on classic death metal for almost a decade, with inspiration coming from Necrophagist, Fallujah and Death of course, to name but a few - they weave twisted, intricate, expressive episodes into one big whole picture with enough of heaviness and extremity, radiating equally strong atmosphere more than often achieved by sweeping lead guitar parts striking the ether in each of its eight songs - in this context Dechristianize era Vital Remains comes to mind too, but Virvum's approach is much more diverse and balanced, borrowing some ideas from post metal world as well; French digipak re-issue comes with twelve page booklet
